Meals and Nutrition
The Centre believes it is important to promote positive attitudes towards food and nutrition and every year we work towards achieving the New Zealand Foundation’s Healthy Heart Award.
We employ a cook to provide the children with a well-balanced menu throughout the day.
When children are 4 years old they become involved in a school lunch day. Friday is fun lunch day, which consists of a smorgasboard of finger food.
Copies of learning stories are placed in children’s profile books. The profile books build to become records of each child’s unique early childhood experience at the Centre and detail the development of their skills, interests and learning dispositions.
Trips and Excursions
Outings are an important part of Centre life. They are always planned for the benefit and enjoyment of the children. Outings provide the children with opportunities to broaden their contact with the wider community and provide opportunities and experiences not always available within the Centre.
Parents will be informed of excursions in advance and parent attendance is encouraged.
